It was like something from the Hitchcock film ‘The Birds’ in Sevilla yesterday as a group of birds started attacking pedestrians in the area of the city’s cathedral, it’s thought to protect their nests.
The adult rooks attacked several people yesterday morning, although the City Hall says that there were no injuries. Local police were called to the scene and confirmed that the reason for the attacks was that one of the rook’s nests had fallen from the cathedral to the ground, and the birds were trying to protect it.
Finally the nest and the chicks inside it were taken to a centre for the recovery of threatened species in the city.
