It has been raining in Valencia. In fact so much rain fell on the city between 4pm on Sunday and 12,30pm on Monday, it would fill the 2,177 Olympic size swimming pools.

An average of 32.39 litres per square metre fell across the city during the time, and municipal drains took away 777,728 cubic metres of water.

City councillor with responsibility for water, Maria Àngels Ramón-Llin, said it showed how well the drains worked in the city, and that despite the rainfall no serious incidents had been reported.
