Temperatures are set to soar in Spain today as a heatwave from Africa sends the mercury up to 35 degrees in many areas, with temperatures in some places a full five degrees higher than yesterday.
Eastern Cantabria and the upper Ebro regions will notice the temperature rise in particular today, and temperatures in the Guadalquivir valley will reach 35 degrees, 33 in Sevilla and 32 in Córdoba.
The front moves to the east with more hot temperatures tomorrow. A weak front may bring some stormy showers on Sunday or Monday, but the Spanish Met Office say that summer has now arrived and in general temperatures will now remain generally higher than last summer.
