100 immigrants spotted off Gran Canaria

At least 100 immigrants travelling on two Cayuco boats were spotted by the coastguard when 85 and 109 miles off the south of Gran Canaria yesterday.

SAR air rescue services said that the immigrants were being taken to Gran Canaria.

All the travellers are from the Sub-Sahara and reported to be in good health.
