Body of 61 year old man from La Hoya found in local reservior

Forensic police are investigating the death of a 61 year old man from La Hoya whose body was found in an irrigation reservoir in the Algorós area.
The man was well-known locally and police say there was no initial sign of violence on the body which was seen by a passer by at 1,30pm yesterday afternoon. The man’s bicycle and documentation was nearby, ruling out theft as a possible motive, and an autopsy is to take place today.
The family had informed the police in Elche about the disappearance of the man on Saturday night.
