The Government Sub-delegation in Alicante has suggested to Benidorm City Hall that they create a new integrated service to help foreign tourists. The SATE service would offer foreigners integrated help and assistance in the case that they are victims of crime, attending to the tourist in their own language.
Government Sub-delegate, Encarna Llinares, told the press yesterday that the idea is already established and working well in Madrid where it was started in 2006, but this would be a pioneering scheme in the Valencia region.
She said that there was no formal agreement yet in place to start the scheme in Benidorm, but that she was keen to do so as the town has an ideal place, given the profile of tourists there.
